STL Research have produced a video simulation of their Proteus Launch and Recovery system deployed on a fully autonomous uncrewed surface vessel.
The video illustrates Proteus’ capabilities with respect to launching untethered assets, and recovering them through the moonpool.
David Kirkley, Managing Director of STL Research explains “Our Proteus LARS, due to its small footprint and light weight, can be installed on smaller vessels, and with the capability of remote operation, can even be deployed on autonomous surface vessels. With our process of continuous improvement, we have enhanced our prototype design, creating Proteus 200, which has, amongst other features, increased payload capabilities, and an extended reach.”
David continued “As we are exhibiting at Ocean Tech Expo, our Business Development Manager, Phil Vosper, will be more than happy to discuss our products, capabilities, services, and even the possibility of creating a bespoke simulation for other vessels.
Plymouth’s confirmation as the National Centre for Marine Autonomy, makes this the ideal exhibition for showcasing our expertise in motion compensation, control and automation for offshore applications, via our Proteus LARS and Neptune Personnel Access System”.
